Nugget # 25 Life lesson from 9/11

SMILE knowing that there’s a bigger picture!

Hi there, I recently came across this list of annoying little things that happened to some people on that fateful day 9/11. Can you believe it was these minor irritations that actually saved their lives?

1)The head of a major company survived the tragedy of “9/11” in New York because his son started kindergarten. Saved by a kid’s admission ?

2) Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.Saved by a bunch of donuts?

3)One woman was late because her alarm clock didn’t go off in time. Saved by a missed wake up call?

4) One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident. Saved by a traffic jam?

5)One of them missed his bus.Saved by missing a bus?

6)One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change. Saved by spilled coffee?

7) One’s car wouldn’t start. Saved by a mechanical failure?

8)One went back to answer the telephone. Saved by a telephone call?

9)One had a child that dawdled and didn’t get ready as soon as he should have.Saved by a kid’s dawdling?

10) The best one of all-  A man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning and set off for work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today. Saved by a band-aid?

Friends, you may call the above incidents coincidences or CHANCE ….. Each person is entitled to his own opinion; and I like to believe that in everyone of the above 10 situations it was the hand of God through these minor annoyances that actually saved them.

So the next time our morning seems to be going wrong,

– the children are slow getting dressed,

– you can’t seem to find the car keys,

– you hit every traffic light…

– miss an elevator…

– turn back to answer a ringing telephone…

let’s not get mad or frustrated; instead let’s just smile and say out loud … ‘Everything happens for a reason.’
